Known as Parrachos de Maracajaú, this complex reef formation filled with corals, stunning fish and other marine life spans over 15 km² and is approximately 7 km from Maracajaú beach.
Snorkeling is possible in the area, but if you plan on visiting when the tide is low, the tide pools are shallow enough for a fabulous swim – possibly the best in Brazil. Floating above a coral garden in warm, clear water while dozens of fish fly around you is a memorable way to spend an afternoon.
