diving fins are swimming aids that increase the propulsive surfaces of a swimmer's and diver's legs. They allow for a faster swimming pace or help the pro get a better feel for water resistance.
Depending on the diving style, different fins are used: tracking fins are used for stroke swimming. In dolphin style, the monofin performs best.

Diving Fins: Everything you need to know
Commercially available fins are made of rubber and/or PVC. Other materials can also be used for special athletes (e.g. monofins, apnea athletes), fiberglass or carbon fiber reinforced plastic.
Diving fins consist of a foot part and a fin blade.

The foot part of the heel part of the fin is shaped like a slipper and provides enough space for heat-insulating neoprene shoes or the foot parts of a dry suit.
The fins are secured at the heel with an adjustable rubber band or a spring band.

Similar to platform fins, differing in the blade which is split in half to increase effectiveness and speed.
However, the fins are very soft and with a lot of current they may not work as well as regular fins. This type of fin is often used in scuba diving.

These are very similar to flippers, except they are much longer and are designed for slow, stiff movements that conserve energy. The vast majority are of the “full foot” design.
